The Campaign

What's this collection about?

Beatles legend Sir Ringo Starr has teamed up with WaterAid to launch a limited-edition collection marking World Ocean Day. The design — a vibrant pop-art portrait capturing Ringo's iconic look, signature moustache and glasses included — is a celebration of the vital role clean water plays in everyday life, and a cause Ringo has championed for many years. It's available across t-shirts, hoodies and tote bags.

Where does my money go?

50% of profits from every item sold go directly to WaterAid's work bringing clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to communities around the world. Buying a piece means you're wearing something you love and helping shine a light on the global water crisis.

How long is the collection available?

This is a limited run, available online for eight weeks only. Once it's gone, it's gone — these are made to order, so there's no leftover stock sitting in a warehouse afterward.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We ship to the UK, the US, and most of Europe. Every order is printed and dispatched from the UK.

How much is shipping, and how long does it take?

• UK — £4.50, typically arriving 3–5 days after dispatch.
• Europe — calculated at checkout, typically 10–20 days after dispatch.
• US — calculated at checkout (see the duties note below), typically 10–20 days after dispatch.

Because every item is made to order, please allow up to 3 working days for production before your order ships. You'll get a tracking email the moment it's on its way.

Why is US shipping more expensive than UK shipping?

Two reasons. First, your order travels across the Atlantic rather than across town. Second — and this is the bigger one — recent changes to US import rules mean every parcel entering the US now carries import duty, regardless of its value. See the next question for how we handle that.

For US Customers

What are the import duties I see at checkout?

As of 29 August 2025, the US ended its long-standing "de minimis" rule, which previously let parcels under $800 enter the country duty-free. Now every shipment from outside the US — including ours — is subject to import duty regardless of value.

The good news: we handle it for you. Your checkout total is "Delivered Duty Paid," which means the duty is calculated and collected upfront. Your order arrives at your door with nothing more to pay — no surprise invoice from the courier, no parcel held at customs waiting on a payment.

So while the total is higher than UK shipping, you're seeing the complete, final cost. There's nothing hidden and nothing left to settle on delivery.

Is the duty going to WaterAid?

No. Import duty is a government charge collected by US customs — it's not part of the campaign and not something we keep. We simply collect it at checkout so your delivery is smooth.

For EU Customers

Will I have to pay anything extra on delivery?

VAT is already included in your checkout total, so there are no additional charges to settle when your order arrives.

Our Shirts

What are they made of?

100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, printed using renewable energy and shipped in plastic-free, recyclable packaging. Our printing partner, Teemill, builds every product to be sent back and remade at the end of its life.

Why "made to order"?

Nothing is printed until you order it. That means no overproduction, no excess stock, and no waste — which keeps the carbon footprint of every shirt as low as possible. It's also why we ask for a few days' production time before dispatch. You're not buying off a pile; we're making yours specifically for you.

What happens when my shirt wears out?

Check the care label for a QR code. When your shirt reaches the end of its life, scan it and follow the instructions to send the item back — it'll be remade into new products rather than going to landfill. It's part of a genuine circular system, not a token gesture.

How should I care for it?

Wash cool, inside out, and line dry where you can. It keeps the print sharp and the fabric lasting longer — better for the shirt and for the planet.

Sizing, Returns & Exchanges

How do I get the right size?

Please check the size guide on each product page before ordering. Because items are made to order, we recommend reviewing carefully.

Can I return or exchange my order?

Because each piece is custom-made to order, we're not able to offer returns or refunds the way a stocked retailer would — which is why the size guide matters. That said, if your item arrives faulty or we've made an error, we'll always put it right.

My order arrived damaged or incorrect — what now?

Get in touch with your order number and a clear photo of the issue, and we'll sort a replacement or refund straight away.

Payment

What payment methods can I use?

All major cards are accepted at checkout. US customers also have the option to pay in four interest-free installments (available on USD orders between $35 and $30,000). Installments aren't available outside the US.

1. Who we are

This store sells official merchandise in support of WaterAid. The store is operated by Friends Of The Planet. Products are printed and fulfilled by our print-on-demand partner, Teemill, who ships directly to you from the UK.

2. Orders and fulfilment

When you place an order, it is sent to Teemill, who produce and ship it. Because Teemill is the fulfiller of your order, their terms of sale also apply to your purchase and govern production, shipping, returns, and refunds. You can read them at https://mag.teemill.com/terms-of-sale. Where those terms address the practical handling of your order, they take precedence.

3. Made to order

All items are made to order. Nothing is printed until you buy it. Please allow up to 3 working days for production before dispatch.

4. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown at checkout in your local currency where available. Payment is taken in full at the time of order. US customers may have the option to pay in interest-free installments, subject to eligibility.

5. Shipping and import duties

We ship to the UK, US, and most of Europe. Shipping costs and times are shown at checkout. For US orders, your total is charged "Delivered Duty Paid" — US import duties are calculated and collected at checkout so there is nothing further to pay on delivery. Import duties are a government charge and are not retained by us or donated. EU VAT is included in your checkout total.

6. Returns

Because each item is printed to order specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind. Please check the size guide on each product page carefully before ordering. If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we will replace or refund it — contact us with your order number and a photo of the issue.

7. The donation

Friends Of The Planet will give 50% of net profits made from the sale of Ringo Starr designed merchandise in support of WaterAid, to WaterAid (a registered charity in England and Wales (no 288701) and Scotland (SC039479)). 50% of the profits raised will go towards WaterAid's clean water projects.

8. Brand and intellectual property

All designs, images, and content on this store are protected and may not be reproduced without permission.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always applies to new orders.
